Young Scottish duo No Windows have returned with their new single, ‘Zodiac 13’. It’s an inquisitive slice of alt-pop defined by a slow, sludgy electric guitar accompaniment, jazzy drum patterns and subtly cinematic strings. Front and centre is the voice of Verity Slangen, who knows how to craft effortless melodies over Morgan Morris’ increasingly expansive production. “This song is written about the isolation I felt as the winter months started, it is about friendships ending and changing and coming to terms with their being a constant doubt when it comes to people near to you.” Their upcoming EP, Point Nemo, is being released on May 3rd, 2024, via Fat Possum. -Dan Peeke
